Softball Information and FAQ's
NYAA Softball:
Northridge Youth Softball followgmails rules from Central Ohio Girls Fastpitch. cogfp.org
Every team will be required to get a team sponsor, if you or someone you know might be interested in sponsoring your team, please let one of the coaches or the commissioner know.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: I would like my daughter to play up to the next level. Can she?
A: Any player wishing to play up for an age division must have approval from commissioner (Jessica Thompson) and requests will not be decided until the completion of sign ups and will be made depending on the number of girls who sign up in each division. .
Q: I missed the registration deadline, can I still sign up?
A: We will allow late registrations however, only if there is room or a need for more players.
Q: How does NYAA split girls into teams?
A: This decision depends on the number of girls who sign up, NYAA does a coaches draft if there are enough players for more than 1 team.
Q: When will I know who my coach is?
A: Once registrations are complete, Coaches will not be selected. NYAA reserves the right to accept or deny coaching requests.
Q: When with the season start?
A: We hope to begin open gym’s towards the end of February and you should plan on the season running from March to early July.
Q: Will my daughter be participating in tournaments?
A: NYAA teams generally participate in an early bird and an end of season tournament.
Q: Will I have to work if my daughter signs up for NYAA Softball?
A: All parents will be asked to participate. That might mean that we request assistance with a fundraiser, work in the concession stand and or assist with field preparations.
Q: Why does NYAA do fundraisers when I paid my fee to play?
A: Please understand that fees are used to pay for upkeep, electric, port a johns, uniforms and Umpires just to name a few. These costs go up every year to the NYAA, so through fundraising it allows us to bank and plan ahead for improvements/upkeep and hopefully keep the fees at a flatter rate year to year.
Q: I signed up to be an assistant coach but no one has contacted me.
A: Assistant Coaches will be selected once teams are picked.
